1.  The Wythe County census was roughly alphabetized and much of it appears to be missing in the 8 pages at Ancestry.com, all at beginning of the alphabet.  This wouldn't matter to us if we weren't looking for DOUGHERTY and variations.  Thankfully, these pages are not missing in the 21 at Genealogy.com.
2.  All entries at Ancestry.com and Genealogy.com are mis-indexed as being in Evansham.  They are not mis-indexed on Broderbund 1820 Census Index CD-314.
Search Notes:
1.  The Charles A. STRAUT indexed in Augusta County is STUART.
2.  The John STROLE and Christian STROLE indexed in Rockingham County are STROLE.
3.  The William STUPE indexes Frederick County is still there in 1830 (i.e., he's not the missing William STROOP).
4.  The "?? strest (unknown)" indexed in Frederick County appears to be Strost or Street.  Whatever it is, it definitely ends in "t."
5.  The index at Ancestry.com only covers the eight pages not missing.
6.  The Broderbund CD appears to have a complete index, and the only DOUGHERTYs (or variation) are the Daniel and John, above.  Likewise, Peter and Jacob are the only STROUPs (or variation).
