Footnotes:
1. Several of the beginning pages for Shenandoah County are in tatters, with names missing. |
Search Notes:
1. In Frederick County, there is a Daniel who is indexed "STRAUP" at Ancestry.com, but as "STUMP" at Genealogy.com and on the Broderbund CD. It does look more like STUMP to me, and there are four other householders in Frederick County who are clearly STUMP, so STUMP does appear to be the correct reading. 2. The John STROUT in Berkeley County is probably not STROUT, but it does end in "T." 3. The J.H. STROBIA indexed in Henrico County is STROBIA. 4. The John STROEP indexed in Ohio County appears to be STROEP or STROESS. The Henry STROESS indexed at Genealogy.com in Ohio County appears to be STROEP or STROESS; he is indexed STROP at Ancestry.com, which is clearly not correct. 5. The Christian STROLE indexed in Rockingham County does appear to be STROLE. 6. The Cloe STRATE indexed in Fairfax County is STRATE. 7. The William STRAS indexed in Henrico County may be STRAS or STRAZ. 8. The William STRAUT indexed in Monongalia County is probably STUART. 9. The Joshua STROCK indexed in Rockingham County is STROCK. 10. Finished search at Ancestry.com on STR*. 11. Page-by-page search: Shenandoah County. 12. Finished search at Ancestry.com on D*. |
