Footnotes:
1. A greyed cell indicates the list was roughly alphabetized. 2. Mis-indexed at Ancestry.com as being in Hopewell Twp. (they apparently missed the change from Hopewell to Buffaloe on p. 56B/624). The location is correct at Genealogy.com and on the Broderbund Census Index CD-313. I've notified Ancestry.com and posted an alert to the error on the Washington Co., PA, message boards at GenForum.com and Ancestry.com. |
Search Notes:
1. The "Thos W Elhoe" indexed in Indiana County is "Thos McElhoe." 2. The "John Eli" indexed in Montgomery County appears to me to be "Erb" or "Erl." 3. There's a Joseph Eli, "Flour Merchant," indexed in Philadelphia who has been scratched out by the enumerator (no numerical data included). These appear to be businesses, not residences. And now I see he appears elsewhere in Philadelphia, still without data and among businesses. He then appears a third time, with family data. 4. The Christian and Jacob Eley indexed in Lancaster County appear to me to be Eby. 5. The Peter Elley indexed in Adams County is Ebley. 6. The Wm Elly indexed in Huntingdon County is Ellis. 7. Finished search at Ancestry.com on all the surnames listed for 1810 in the ELY Surname Frequency Table. |

"The Cloud" is double-speak for "dumb terminal
on a main frame." Been there; done that. Never again.
You are giving away not only your privacy, but control of your data, your apps, and your computer to a corporation. Is that really where you want to go? The IT guys on the big iron hated the Personal Computer because it gave users freedom and power; now they've conned you into being back under their control. |
