Footnotes:
1. As best I can assertain, Big Rock Twp. was formed in March of 1820 and, at the time, encompassed all of what would become Marion and Crawford Cos. and that part of Delaware Co. north of the town of Delaware. Big Rock Twp. later became subdivided out of existence. 2. Mis-indexed as being in Rush Twp. 3. John CUP was indexed as John CAP/CASS, and he was indexed as being on two pages: 41 and 43. Page 43 is the original census page and page 41 is a typescript extraction, right in the NARA microfilm. The pages are in such bad shape, you have to be thankful someone did a transcription. My reading of the numbers agrees with the extractor's, odd as they are, but I read the surname as CUP, not CAP or CASS, and I'm not 100% certain his first name is John. 4. James P. CAPS is mis-indexed as being in Leesburg; he is not. |
