Neither is living with his parents, and these may in fact be the same young man, enumerated twice. Julia A. PEARCE (æ 7, b. IL) is living in Jefferson Co., MO (p. 411A), with her presumed brother, Barton A. PEARCE (æ 8, b. IL). They are living with Henry Clay & Nancy (HINSON) TODD (q.v.).

It's hard to fathom this record. Surely this is the George STROUP who married Julia Ann PIERCE, sister of Bartlett/Barton PIERCE, in 1856. So, who is Mary? And who are the children? And why are they out of order? I can find no Silas, Rudolph, or Rufus STROUP who could be these individuals, anywhere in 1870 or 1880. Is this some kind of gross enumerator error?
