Alleged Child: |
They are said to have had this child, but she is not with them in the
1910 or 1920 census.
1. Monteen MOON, b. 19 Apr 1911; m. 1928/9, Lester J. PRINCE (1905-1958) In the 1830 census, Lester & Montine PRINCE are sharing a dwelling place with George & Ossie (see below), but the form of the census record only indicates they inhabit the same building, which could be a duplex or a small apartment house, or Lester could simply be George's employee renting a room from him. Also, Monteen's alleged birthdate (1911) not jibe with the age of Lester's wife in 1930 (26). If she was really born ca. 1904 and really was our subjects' daughter, she should have been with them in both the 1910 and 1920 censuses, which she is not. It's possible she was sent away to boarding school, but if so, a record of it should be found before connecting her to our subjects because the 1930 census, alone, is not enough to substantiate that she is their daughter. Of course, finding Lester & Montine's marriage record would presumably clear this up, but these are not my kin, so someone else will have to make the effort to find it. |
