It is not surprising that Dicy calls herself a widow when, in fact, she is divorced.  There was a considerable social stigma against being divorced, so it was not unusual for a divorced woman to say she was widowed.  My own grandmother did so in the 1900 census.  Note that Eve/Evie is now Moroney, as she should have been in 1900.

9.  1920 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  can't find Dicy, at least not as Dicy TYNER.

10.  1930 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  can't find Dicy, at least not as Dicy TYNER.

11.  Public Member Trees (online at Ancestry.com):  the one file submitted here containing William, son of Rufus & Martha (BORUM) MERONEY, has mixed him up with the William MERINEY (b. 1854/5, GA) who married Lena PORTER (b. 1858/9, GA) and lived in Augusta, Richmond Co., GA — both of whom are African-American.

12.  Public Member Trees (online at Ancestry.com):  a file submitted here shows Ossie MERONEY married to George G. MOON.
