Lester J. PRINCE
Montine __?__ |
WARNING: secondary sources are assuming Montine is the daughter of George & Ossie (MERONEY) MOON, apparently because they share a dwelling place in the 1930 census. However, Montine does not appear in any other census with George & Ossie. The census record can be interpreted that Lester is an employee of George, and he's simply renting an apartment or room from his employer. I see no reason to assume Montine is George & Ossie's daughter, especially when the evidence argues against it. I'm also not convinced the Monteen PRINCE in the Georgia death records and SSDI is Lester's wife because she's seven years too young. Finding their marriage record would answer the major question here. |

Sources (n.b., Fulton and DeKalb Cos. are adjacent):
1. Marriage Record: 2. 1910 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com): Lester J. PRINCE (æ 7, b. GA) is living in the City of Atlanta (Ward 3), Fulton Co., GA (p. 245A), with his parents, James PRINCE (æ 26, b. GA) and Blanch (æ 22, b. GA), plus siblings. And, yes, it appears Blanch married that young because the census record shows she and James have been married eight years. I can't find Montine, not with any certainty. 3. 1920 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com): Lester PRINCE (æ 17, b. GA) is living in the City of Atlanta (Ward 3), Fulton Co., GA (p. 41A), with his widowed mother, Blanch PRINCE (æ 33, b. GA), plus siblings. I can't find Montine, not with any certainty. 4. 1930 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #19 of 37): 112 Fourth Ave., Decatur Borough, G.M. Dist. #531, DeKalb Co., GA, Roll 351, p. 154A, SN 10A, ED 45-21, SD 4, enumerated 8 Apr 1930, official enumeration date 1 Apr 1930 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):

5b. GNIS: Geographic Names Information Service (online at USGS.gov): according to the GNIS, there's no such place as "Bullock" in DeKalb County; there is a Bulloch County in Georgia, but it's nowhere near DeKalb County. 6. SSDI: Social Security Death Index (online at RootsWeb.com):
