Joshua KELLEY II
Ms. __?__ |
WARNING: Secondary sources have this Joshua KELLEY married to Rebecca ELLIOTT in 1812 in Baltimore, MD. Our subject was born in 1790 in Huntingdon Co., PA, and his father was in Hardin Co., KY, by the 1810 census, so I simply cannot rationalize our subject going back to Maryland to get married. I believe two different Joshua KELLEYs are being mixed up here. Joshua was a popular given name in this family, and it seems probable that the Joshua KELLEY who married in Baltimore in 1812 is the son of one of the KELLEY families that stayed in Baltimore, not one of the branches that moved west. We do not, in fact, know the name of our subject's wife because she died before 1850. |
