A List of Included vs. Excluded SNPs Examined in Constructing
a Y-DNA Haplogroup I1-M253 Haplotree, as of December 2013
I constructed these tables to determine which SNPs have both a positive and a negative value for individuals who are M253+ because these are the SNPs that are useful in constructing the Hg I1-M253 haplotree (i.e., the SNP must be downstream of M253).  Any SNP that is either all positive or all negative for those who are M253+ is not a useful SNP for contructing the tree.  Determining the useful SNPs was the first step in preparing the Hg I1 SNP Matrix, which is the basis for the Hg I1 Haplotree

A table like this is bound to be ephemeral as new SNPs and/or new test results appear almost daily; this page was compiled over a period of several days in December 2013.

The list was compiled primarily from the SNP Results tables of several FTDNA Hg I1 projects.  When I refer below to "SNP Results" tables, I mean these FTDNA tables.  I also consulted trees by Ken Nordtvedt and Terry Robb, the Archive of the Y-DNA-HAPLOGROUP-I mailing list, and other sources to find relevant SNPs.

A dark gray cell for a SNP name means this SNP was not found on a SNP Results table, though it must have appeared in some other source or I wouldn't have included it.  A dark gray cell for a SNP state (+/-) means no one with that state appears in the SNP Results tables.  If you know of differing results I haven't found, please share.

A colored row means the SNP is used in my rendering of the Hg I1 Haplotree.  There's no particular significance to the colors, although the colors used here are the same as those used in the tree.  A dollar sign in the right-most column means you can purchase that SNP test à la carte at FTDNA.
