In this case, the Royal WILLIAMS above was Jr. to his uncle, Royal WILLIAMS, Sr., who did not have a son named Royal. Both uncle and nephew lived contemporaneously in Middlebury, Mercer Co., MO, hence the need to distinquish between them.
