In the supplied photos, the fronts of John's and Mary Ann's tombstones are mostly unreadable, but both are unusual in having the name carved on the top surface of a thick, flat-surfaced stone.  Surely they are a pair.  In both cases, their birth and death dates are consistent with the census records.
