Sources:

1.  Jordan R. Dodd, ed.  1998.  Marriage Index: Missouri, 1851-1900.  Liahona Research, Orem, UT (Broderbund CD-234):
Stroup, Andrew Jackson, Martha 16 Nov 1852 Jefferson Co.
No second marriage for Martha is on the CD, which obviously does include Jefferson County marriage records.

2.  1850 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #141 of 153):  District No. 42 [Joachim Twp.], Jefferson Co., MO, p. 477A, 1058/1058, enumerated 30 Oct 1850, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1850 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•

Elizabeth " 33 F       Mo
Susan     " 15 F       Mo
William   " 12 M       Mo
Peter     " 10 M       Mo
Austin    "  5 M       Mo
George    "  2 M       Mo
Hercules Ogle 20 M   Laborer   Mo
Andrew Stroup 18 M   do   Mo
Andrew's being listed last is supposed to indicate that he is not John & Elizabeth's son, which is supported by the fact that he is not in John's household in the 1840 census.  It's going to be tough proving who Andrew's parents were without additional evidence.

3.  1860 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #13 of 35):  Grubville P.O., Big Pine Twp., Jefferson Co., MO, Roll M653_626, p. 671, PN 122, 927/916, enumerated 31 Jul 1860, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1860 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•

Martha J Stroup 32 F         Tenn
George  7 M         "
Jas B  4 M         "
Jacob F  2 M         "
Jno Jackson 16 M         Mo
The children were born in Missouri, not Tennessee.  This enumerator did not use ditto marks for the surnames, so it's unclear whether "Jackson" is John's middle name or his surname.  Odds are the latter, otherwise it's an incredible coincidence that Andrew's brother's middle name turns out to be his wife's maiden name, yet secondary sources assert he is Andrew's brother, not Martha's.
