Note:  based on circumstantial evidence (i.e., on timing and geography), it seems possible that our subject may be the Joseph RASEY in the 1790 census of Isle La Motte, VT.  Not only do the descendants of the RASEYs of Isle La Motte cluster together in the northeastern counties of New York (viz., Essex, Clinton, Franklin, and St. Lawrence Cos.) their further descendants are found clustered in some adjacent counties in south-central Michigan (viz., Barry, Eaton, and Calhoun Cos.).
