Jerome Benjamin CORBIN
Mary Ann __?__
Husband:  Jerome Benjamin CORBIN
Birth:  31 Oct 1818, Lexington Co., SC
Death:
Occupation:  school teacher
Father:  Samuel CORBIN
Mother:  Hannah Caroline __?__

Some secondary sources give our subject a death date in 1888, but his wife is a widow in the 1880 census.  The absence of child birthing by his wife after 1860/1 suggests Jerome died during the Civil War.
Some secondary sources show our subject as the son of Samuel CORBIN & Violet HOOD, but — among other things — the early censuses do not show a son Jerome's age living with this couple.

Marriage:
Wife:  Mary Ann __?__
Birth:  1822-25, SC
Death:  1899, Jackson Co., FL
Occupation:  homemaker
Children:
— born in GA, possibly in Crawford Co., GA:
  1.  Cornelia CORBIN, b. 1843/4
  2.  Emily CORBIN, b. 1844/5
  3.  Samuel H. CORBIN, b. 1847/8; m. Sarah R. KIRKLAND

— born in Macon Co., AL:
  4.  Sarah CORBIN, b. ca. 1849

— born in either Macon Co., AL, or Dale Co., AL:
  5.  Jerome Napoleon Bonaparte "Boney" CORBIN, b. 1850/1; m. Sarah F. BUSH
  6.  Mary Alice CORBIN, b. 1852/3
  7.  William Paul CORBIN, b. 14 Apr 1856
  8.  Josephine CORBIN, b. 1857
  9.  George Washington CORBIN, b. 4 Apr 1861

Mary is simply too old to be the mother of the these children.  The ten-year gap after the birth of George also suggests these are not Mary's children.  So, are they adopted?  Are they grandchildren?
10.  Mettie CORBIN, b. 1870/1, AL
11.  Thaddeus CORBIN, b. 1875/6, AL / TX
