The year given for James's birth cannot be correct because James's brother was born in Nov 1859, and James was older than Miles. This age relationship is supported by James's age in the 1860 census, which was one year, while Miles was age six months in that census. They continue to have the same age relationship (James one year older than Miles) in the 1870 and 1880 censuses.
