James FONES, a.k.a., James Fones CORBIN
Sarah Hannah BIVENS
Note:  A patrilineal descendant of our subject has been Y-DNA tested for the CORBIN Y-DNA Surname Project.  As expected, he is not a genetic match with his adoptive family, the CORBINs of the Northern Neck of Virgina; and, so far, he is not a DNA match with anyone else, either.  Our subject has many descendants, so he has succeeded in founding a new dynasty of CORBINs.  If you are a male CORBIN, and you think you descend from him, you can now prove it with a Y-DNA test.

How many of these are actually documented?

Transcriber's Note:  The 1820 census shows them with only two daughters, not four.  As it turns out, Lou Ann and Susanna are the same person; she married 1st John DOUTHITT and second James SKEIN.  Also, John DOUTHITT/DOUTHERT did not die in 1849; he is still alive in the 1850 census.  As for the Elizabeth supposedly born ca. 1816, either she was not their daughter or she died before 1820, not ca. 1826.
