Simms CARRICO
Susannah DELP |
Please Note: Secondary sources are mixing up our subject with the Simms CARRICO who married Rebecca HANKS and Margaret ROTEN. These are two different men. |
Husband: Simms / Sims / Syms CARRICO
Birth: 1817/8, VA Death: aft. 1880 census Normally I would have pegged Simeon as the given name and "Simms" as a nickname, but the surname SIMMS appears in an early generations of the family, so that appears to be the source of the name, which then makes the 1840 census enumerator error (see below). The elder Simms CARRICO (grandson of Abel CARRICO I & Elizabeth SIMMS) was also called "Simeon" only once, in the same 1840 census. Secondary sources have our subject as a son of these parents,

Marriage: |
Wife: Susanna / Susannah / Susan DELPH / DELP
Birth: 1816/7, Grayson Co., VA Death: aft. 1880 census Father: John M. DELP Mother: Sophia SHULER / SCHULER Many secondary sources give Susan this given name and initial: "Susanna B." It appears, to me, that this combination is a misreading of her 1860 census record (see below). I'll grant that at first glance, that is what her name looks like, but on closer examination, it's "Susannah"; the "B" is really a slightly disconncted "h." In other words, her middle initial is not "B." |

2. Lucinda CARRICO, b. 1844/5 3. Creed N. CARRICO, b. 1847/8; m. 12 Feb 1869, Mournen Emaline SHULER / SCHULER (c1852- ) 4. Rosamond Caroline CARRICO, b. 1848/9 5. John T? CARRICO, b. 1851/2 6. James Monroe CARRICO, b. Aug 1854 7. Marion C. CARRICO, b. 1858/9 |

Everything I have is online at this web site. I have no further information, so please don't write asking me if I do.
On the other hand, if you feel I've made an error, please don't hesitate to notify me, but in which case, There are over 18,000 pages on this web site, and I simply don't remember every page, much less every person on every page. |
