In earlier censuses, Larkin Brooks COLLINS appears to be their son, not their grandson.  They had no sons old enought to be Larkin's father, but he could be an illegitimate son of one of their older daughters.  Listed next to George STROUP, who is next to his widowed mother, Martha Jane (JACKSON) STROUP, who is eight households from Henry C. STROUP, son of Harmon STROUP.
