Secondary sources mistakenly say that the children were born in Findlay, no doubt because the Findlay Post Office is named on their census records.  But these were farmers.  They lived in the country — in the township, not the town.  They rode/drove to the Town of Findlay to pick up their mail, it is not where they lived.

2.  1820 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #11 of 17extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):  not found.  It appears our newlyweds are living with someone else, probably with his parents or hers.  (The "Levin/Leven" indexed in Baltimore is not a mis-reading of Resin/Rezen, plus the man was born before 1794.)

Other BUCKINGHAMs in township:  Nathan and Eli???.  The list was roughly alphabetized, which reveals that the pages for Violet Township were numbered and microfilmed in reverse order.

5.  1850 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #145 of 427 — indexed "Rizon"):  Van Lue, Amanda Twp. (Dist. No. 48), Hancock Co., OH, p. 461B, 26/26, enumerated 5 Sep 1850, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1850 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):

Reason has shaved a few years off his age — as both widows and widowers are inclined to do.  Presumably here, the blanks in the birthplace column all mean Ohio.  The BEARD children are Mary's from her prior marriage.  Elias V. CROSS is probably a nephew or grand-nephew, that is, kin to Reason's first wife, Eleanor CROSS.

7.  1870 Census Index/Images (online at Genealogy.com, Image #25 of 26):  Findlay P.O., Marion Twp., Hancock Co., OH, Roll 1218 (Book 1), p. 215A, PN 25, 190/190, enumerated 21 Jul 1870, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1870 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):

James and Sarah are Emily's children from her prior marriage.  Jacob may be Emily's nephew — or her illegitimage son.

8a.  1880 Census (indexed at FamilySearch.org; page image online at Ancestry.com, Image #26 of 31):  Amanda Twp., Hancock Co., OH, Roll T9-1021, p. 505B, PN 26, SD 1, ED 184, enumerated 11 Jun 1880, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1880 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):

For whatever reason, Reason and Emily are no longer living together (see next record), though they are apparently still married.  But how does a man in his 70's become a stone mason? He must have been one tough old bird — or it's enumerator error.

8b.  1880 Census (indexed at FamilySearch.org; page image online at Ancestry.com, Image #7 of 20):  Marion Twp., Hancock Co., OH, Roll T9-1021, p. 423C, PN 7, SD 1, ED 174, enumerated 7/8 Jun 1880, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1880 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):

James ILIFF is Emily's son from her first marriage.  John T. JACOBS is either Emily's nephew or her illegitimate son, born before her first marriage.
