My photocopy of this map is not complete; it's missing the rightmost column of Sections and part of the adjacent column of Sections.

Below, I have highlighted Thomas's patent in yellow and his name in red, along with the names of known or suspected kin.  Of those:

  • Isaac DAVIS is the father of Thomas's first wife, Delilah DAVIS; he was a founding elder of the Red Top Church, and his wife, Sarah (CLARK) DAVIS, was a founding member.
  • James, John, and Joseph DAVIS are presumably Isaac's sons.  (There is no known Ebenezer in the family.)
  • Andrew Gibson DARBY married Isaac's daughter, Sarah Jones DAVIS.
  • S.L. FRENCH would appear to be Simon L. FRENCH, grandson of Mary CLARK, sister of Sarah (CLARK) DAVIS, Thomas's mother-in-law.
  • Elijah English CHRISMAN was pastor of the Red Top Church immediately succeeding Thomas THOMPSON and Isaac DAVIS in that position.  There is also a distant blood relationship involving the McBRIDEs and VAN BIBBERs.
  • William ROBERTS was a founding elder of the Red Top Church; Nathan ROBERTS was a founding deacon, and Richmond, James, and Priscilla ROBERTS were founding members.  Richmond ROBERTS became the second pastor of the church, following Thomas McBRIDE.
  • Richard WAINSCOTT/WINSCOTT and Nancy WAINSCOTT/WINSCOTT were founding members of the Red Top Church.
  • Thomas's youngest son, William H.H. THOMPSON, married a Mary Ann JENNINGS; however William wasn't even born until 1840, and he married in California.  Still, there may be a connection to these JENNINGS.
  • EWINGs were prominent in Christian Co., KY, but I don't know whether those below are related, or whether we are related to the EWINGS.
