My photocopy of this map is not complete; it is missing the leftmost column of Sections and part of the adjacent column of Sections.

Below, I have highlighted Thomas's patent in yellow and his name in red, along with the names of known or suspected kin.  Because Thomas lived so close to the boundary of the township, we really need to also see T51N.12W.  Of those on this map:

  • James DAVIS and Benjamin DAVIS are brothers of Thomas's wife, Delilah DAVIS.
  • Thomas's daughter, Sarah M. THOMPSON, married William REED/REID, Jr., but given that they married in 1834 in Monroe Co., it is likely that the William REID here is William Senior — if, in fact, it is the same family.
  • The WISDOMs were intermarrying with the CRAIGs, CAVEs, and MIMSes back in KY.
  • Vardeman HAWKINS is almost certainly related to the Peggy HAWKINS who married Henry CAVE.
  • Henry CLARK, grandfather of Thomas's wife, Delilah, had a brother-in-law named HANNA — but we're getting a bit far afield here.
