2.  1820 Census (extracted by A. Robert Matthiesen; see_1820 Table):
1820 KY Todd Co. p. 125 J.T.V. Thompson 000100-00000
These data indicate:
No. & Sex  Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
1 male 19-25* 1794-1801 = James (b. 1793)
*In the 1820 Census, the third column is age class 16-18 and the fourth column is age class 16-25; therefore, any individual in column three is duplicated in column four.  By subtracting the number in column three from the number in column four, you can create an age class "19-25."
Either James is in the wrong age class or his birthdate is wrong.

3.  1830 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #39 of 56 indexed "James T.D. Thompson"; list was roughly alphabetized; extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):
1830 MO Clay Co. Roll 73 p. 288 Ln. 24 James T V Thompson 010 020 - 200 010 310000-010000
These data indicate:
No., Race, Gender Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
1 white male 5-9 1820-1825 = Son A
2 white males 20-29 1800-1810 = ?
= James T.V. (b. 1793)
2 white females 4 or under 1825-1830 = Daughter B
= Daughter A
1 white female 20-29 1800-1810 = Margaret (b. 1806)
3 male slaves 9 or under 1820-1830 = ? ? ?
1 male slave 10-23 1806-1820 = ?
1 female slave 10-23 1806-1820 = ?
James is again in the wrong age class.  Do we, in fact, have the correct birthyear for him?  Or did he inflate his age as he got older?

14 person employed in agriculture
Page torn, so the enumeration of his slaves is missing, but we know he had them from the totals.  By deduction, with 45 persons total and 21 whites, he presumably had 24 slaves, which is in keeping with the wealth shown in 1850 (see below).  Listed next to James's brother-in-law, Samuel HADLEY.

.  LDS.  Ancestral File (online).  Has parents of Margaret MABEN as Henry & Janett (HARLOW) MABEN, but I am much more inclined to believe the previous source.
