William TOON
Perdelia CARRICO
WARNING:  Secondary sources show William as having a second wife, Susanna WILLET, but the Susan who was living with him in the 1850 thru 1870 censuses is shown as a daughter in the 1880 census.  However, Susan is not in the household in the 1840 census, so is she really William's daughter?  My interest here is CARRICO, so I'm not pursuing the matter futher, but caveat emptor
Husband:  William TOON
Birth:  25 Nov 1807, Washington Co., KY
Death:  7 Aug 1882, Fancy Farm, Graves Co., KY
Father:  Stanislaus L. TOON
Mother:  Jenny BLANFORD
Stepmother:  Mary Harriet CARRICO
Marriage:  24 Feb 1829, Washington Co., KY
Wife:  Perdelia / Delia CARRICO — sister of William's stepmother
Birth:  29 Mar 1807, Charles Co., MD
Death:  1847-50, Washington Co., KY
Father:  Henry CARRICO
Mother:  Susanna __?__
Children:
— born in Washington Co., KY:
1.  Benedict TOON, b. 31 May 1830

— born in Washington Co., KY, or Graves Co., KY:
2.  Isabell "Bell" TOON, b. 1830-35
3.  William S.L. TOON, b. 29 Apr 1831; d. 13 Sep 1879
4.  Lloyd TOON, b. 1830-35
5.  Richard TOON, b. 1836/7
6.  Hilary / Hillary Cornelius TOON, b. 14 Jan 1838; d. 1903; m. by 1860, Sarah Ellen HOBBS (b. 1843, KY)
7.  James Christopher TOON, b. 1842
8.  Elisha Ivan TOON, b. 1847

They are said to have had at least four other children, all of whom died young.  As I don't have the evidence for them, I'm omitting them.

Others in Household — born in KY:
.  Susan A. TOON, b. 1835/6
.  William TOON, b. 1851/2

Bell is not with them in the 1830 census, so she cannot be age 20, not unless she is not their biological daughter and/or the birthdate for William is incorrect.  Why is Susan listed last?  She's shown as a daughter by the 1880 census, but is she adopted?  She's not in the household in 1840.  Listed next to widow Lucy (__?__) CARRICO (æ 45).

If Susan is his daughter, why was she listed last in the 1850 census and not at all in the 1840 census?  And why do secondary sources show William as having second wife, Susanna WILLETT?
