Richard Thomas TANNER
Margaret MORRIS
Husband:  Richard Thomas / Thomas Richard TANNER
Birth:  1838/9, of Haralson Co., GA
Death:  aft. 1880 census
Occupation:  farmer
Father:  William TANNER
Mother:  Melinda __?__
Our subject is said by some to be the son of these parents, but he clearly is not.
Father:  Thomas TANNER (1805-1879) of Washington Co., GA
Mother:  Mary __?__ (1808- ) of SC
Their son, Thomas TANNER (b. ca. 1840), is unmarried and living with them in Washington Co., GA, in the 1860, 1870, and 1880 censuses, while their son Richard TANNER (b. ca. 1834) is married to Permelia UNDERWOOD and is living in Washington Co., GA, in the 1860, 1870, and 1880 censuses.
Marriage:  27 Feb 1860, Haralson Co., GA
Wife:  Margaret / Margret "Peggy" MORRIS
Birth:  1841, GA
Death:  aft. 1880 census
Relationship Unknown:
.  Carter GAN, b. 1855/6, GA
.  Charity TANNER, b. 1856/7, GA

Charity TANNER was born well before our subjects were married, and I can find no such person in the 1860 census.  It appears Charity TANNER may be the "Carter GAN" of the 1850 census.  Either way, the connection here is unclear.

Children:
1.  Susan Malinda / Melinda TANNER, b. 1861/2; d. 2 Jan 1930, Malvern, Hot Spring Co., AR
2.  James W. TANNER, b. 1862/3

Alin / Allen "Dink" TANNER is Richard's brother.  Could "Carter GAN" be an extreme "mis-hearing" of Charity TANNER (i.e., enumerator error)?

This enumerator took the "last name first" instruction too far and reversed the entire name, so these are middle intials, not first initials.  Listed six households from James J. TANNER (æ 34, b. GA) and his family, who is next to Arch J. TANNER (æ 34, b. GA) and family.
