The only other TANNER in Paulding County is Joel Jefferson TANNER, who is of an age to be William's older brother.  Based on his residence in 1860, Joel is in the part of Paulding County (Dist. 484) that became Polk County; based on the residence of his sons in 1860, William was in the part of Paulding County (Dist. 839) that became Haralson County.
