Bassel Stroup, 69, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 1997  Mrs. Stroup was born Dec. 23, 1927 in Polk County.  She was of the Baptist faith.  Surviving are: husband, Melton Stroup of Cedartown; three sons, Buddy T. Stroup and Huel Wayne Stroup, both of Cedartown, and Phillip Neal Stroup of Rome; daughter, Mary E. Williams of Cedartown, Shirley Davidson of Atlanta; 10 grandchildren. And 10 great grandchildren.  Graveside services were held Friday, Oct. 17, at 2 p.m., in the Valley View Cemetery with Rev. Robert Vines officiating. Pallbearers were; Edward Stroup, Gary Stroup, Danny Paris, Buddy Gunn, David Oliver, and Kevin Dyle.  The Lester C. Litesey Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
