Luther B. Stroup, 71, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 1997 at his residence.  Mr. Stroup was born April 12, 1926 in Polk County.  He was a retired cab driver. Surviving are: three sons Dennis L. Stroup and Tommy Durden, both of Cedartown, and Franklin Langley of Rome; daughter, Beverly Parker of Rome; brother, Jonah Stroup, Jr., of Rome; two sisters, Katherine Bailey and Lillian Aring, both of Cedartown; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Graveside services were held Tuesday, Nov. 4, at 2 p.m., at the Northview Cemetery, with the Rev. Billy Thomas officiating.  The Gammage Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
Who was his wife?!  How can Luther STROUP have sons surnamed DURDEN and LANGLEY?  Were they adopted?
