2.  1840 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #7 of 14; extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•
1840 PA Venango Co. Rockland Twp. p. 110B Ln. 7 J.R. Stroup 100 010 - 020 010
These data indicate:
No. & Sex Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
1 male 4 or under 1835-1840 = William (b. 1837/8)
1 male 20-29 1810-1820 = John (b. 1814)
2 females 5-9 1830-1835 = Daughter B
= Daughter A
1 female 20-29 1810-1820 = Harriet (b. 1819/20)
The most obvious explanation for the two girls born 1830-35 is that John had a prior wife (Harriet is too young to have had them with a prior husband).

Why do I get the impression Harriet (WEBSTER) STROUP doesn't know where she was born?  Harriet HULING is more than a "boarder"; she's their married daughter.

8.  1900 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  can't find, though John, at least, was alive and should have been enumerated somewhere.
