James Bertle STROUP
Sena COLLINS
Winnie Estelle WALTON
Husband:  James Bertle / Birtle STROUP
Birth:  Dec 1881, Ozark, Franklin Co., AR
Death presumably:  ca. 1911, Paris, Short Mountain Twp., Logan Co., AR
Father:  Henry Don STROUP
Mother:  Emma ALSTON

One secondary source has our subject deceased in 1904, but as he appears in the 1910 census, that is clearly not the case.  I cannot, however, find him in the 1920 census, so the fact that his last child was born in 1911 suggests James died around that time.

Emma STROUP is our subject's mother.  James's first wife must have died because otherwise her children would surely be living with her, instead of their paternal grandmother.

As bad as this enumerator's spelling was, his handwriting was worse.  This may be close to the most illegible record I've ever tried to extract, short of those that have faded away entirely, so it's hard to fault the indexer for missing it so badly.  John's relationship to Arthur should be Step-Son, not Son.
