Children — born in Oneida Co., NY:

  2.  Mary Maime / Mayme STROUP, b. 21 Jul 1851
  3.  Julia Ann STROUP, b. 1852/3

11.  Alvin I. STROUP, b. 19 Jun 1871

John's tombstone apparently says he was born 22 Oct 1865, but 1865 cannot be correct because 1) the 1900 census says 1863, and 2) a birth on 22 Oct 1865 would be less than nine months from the birth of his sister, Emma, on 9 Jul 1866 — biologically just barely possible (if Emma were premature), but in reality, extremely unlikely.
