Phlomela Stroup  7 F         "
"Phlomela" is probably a mis-spelling of "Philomela," a name from Greek mythology.  Listed four households from our subjects.  Phlomela appears to be our subjects' daughter, "Amelia."  I have no explanation for her living with the ANDERSON's in 1860, except that the STROUPs had eight children at the time and the ANDERSONs had only three, and none of them small, which makes me think Jane is probably sister of Elias or Rebecca.

5.  1870 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com, Image #4 of 16 — indexed "Straup"):  Jonestown P.O., Davidson Twp., Sullivan Co., PA, Roll M593_1453, p. 36B, PN 4, 26/28, enumerated 2 Jun 1870, official enumeration date 1 Jun 1870 (extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•

"Amelia" in 1870 appears to have been the "Phlomela" in 1860.
