WARNING: I may have made a bad connection here. If, as the 1930 census states, Charles was first married at the age of 23 (in 1906/7), then he should not appear as unmarried and living with his mother in the 1910 census (see below). Or was he married three times, so was divorced or widowed in 1910? But in which case his marital status in 1910 should be "W" or "D," not "S." The easiest way out of this would be if the 1930 census is in error and Charles was first married at age 33, not 23. Note the occupation of drayman, which is rare, so it strongly supports the connection of the Charles in 1930 to the one in 1910 — over and above his age, birthplace, and location, etc. Still, consider this page tentative. |
