Sources (n.b., Schuylkill Co. was formed in 1811 from Berks and Northampton Cos.; Hubley Twp. was formed in 1853 from Lower Mahantango Twp.):

1.  Marriage Record:

2.  1800 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  not found, at least not that I can tell for certain.  If we can take Maria's age to be correct, then it's entirely possible she married our subject after the 1800 census, but by 1802, which would explains why we might not find them in the 1800 census.

3.  1810 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #5 of 5 — list was roughly alphabetized; extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•
1810 PA Northumberland Co. Upper Mahanoy Twp. Roll 53 p. 262 Ln. 6 Stroub Christiana Weaver 20000-00001-00
These data indicate:
No. & Sex Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
2 males 9 or under 1800-1810 = John (b. 1806)
= Son A
female 26-44 1765-1784 =
1 female 45 or over in or bef. 1765 = Christiana
Christiana is in the wrong age class, but surely this is our widow.  Or is this age for Christina correct, and she lied about her age to her second husband and family, thus have a wrong age on her tombstone?  Upper Mahonoy Twp., Northumberland Co., is just across the county line from Upper Mahantango Twp., Schuylkill Co.

4.  1820 Census Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com; Image #6 of 8; extracted by Diana Gale Matthiesen):¤•
1820 PA Schuylkill Co. Lower Mahantango [now Hubley] Twp. Roll M33_111 p. 87 Ln. 15 John Stong 011101-30010-0-200
These data indicate:
No. & Sex  Age Class Therefore Born Individuals Inferred
1 male 10-15 1804-1810 = John STRAUB (b. 1806), Maria's son from her prior marriage
1 male 16-18 1801-1804 = Son A, Maria's son from her prior marriage
1 male 45 or over in or bef. 1775 = John STONG (b. 1761)
3 females 9 or under 1810-1820 = Daughter C
= Daughter B
= Susanna STONG (b. 1811)
1 female 26-44 1775-1794 = Maria Christina (b. 1780)
2 persons engaged in agriculture
*In the 1820 Census, the third column is age class 16-18 and the fourth column is age class 16-25; therefore, any individual in column three is duplicated in column four.  By subtracting the number in column three from the number in column four, you can create an age class "19-25." If the numbers in column three and column four are equal, then you can eliminate the 19-25 column because all individuals are 16-18.

John Straub was also born in Schuylkill county, and was a son of John Straub, farmer and mill owner of that county, where he died...
