Elizabeth may be Jacob's daughter from a prior marriage. Certainly, the age difference between Jacob and Margaret suggests he would likely have had a prior wife, and it does appear Elizabeth may have been born before our subject married Anna. Secondary sources show the children born in Watertown [Twp.], while the census shows them living in Farmington [Twp.], at least in 1850. (The two townships are adjacent.) |
