In the 1880 census, both Clarissa and her sister, Electa (BROWN) KILL, give their parents' birthplaces as Connecticut.  If correct, we have attached them to the wrong parents — or their parents' birthplaces in the censuses are wrong.  But then in 1900, Electa gives her father's birthplace as MA and her mother's birthplace as NY, which is at least close.

She has the family bible of Alexander PRICE.  It says, "Clarissa Brown, daughter of Joel & Mary Brown, born at Phelps, Ontario, NY, Jan. 30, 1818."  That's the only information on BROWN.
