TN) is living in Cherokee Co., Al (p. 288A), with her children, who jibe with those in the 1860 census, except for the absense of Samuel.  There is a Samuel MOSELY (æ 19, b. AL) living in Morgan Co., AL (p. 116A), who is the only white Samuel MOSELY born in Alabama who is the right age to be our subject.  He is an unmarried clerk living in the household of a dry goods merchant, not a farmer, so he may not be our subject.  Then again, he is obviously "working out," so it could be him.

4b.  1870 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  Mary JACKSON (æ 14, b. AL) is living in Cherokee Co., AL (p. 287B), with her parents, James JACKSON (æ 63, b. SC) & Jane (æ 50, b. TN), plus siblings, who are listed just 12 households from Widow MOSELY.
