5.  1870 Census Every-Name-Index/Images (online at Ancestry.com):  can't find, and I even did pages-by-page searches of Stoystown, Quemahoning Twp., and Paint Twp.  I can't find Gottlieb & Maria (MAUCK) STRAUB, either.  The enumerator must have missed a section of the township.

7.  Tombstone Readings:  Lutheran Cemetery, Paint Borough, Paint Township, Somerset Co., PA (online at the Somerset County PAGenWeb site; contributed by Donna Knupp):
Mock, John C.
Private  Co H. 171st  Reg. Pa. Vol.
Died July 17, 1892
Aged 74 yr.
If this is our subject's son, some "age inflation" has taken place because John would be ca. 62, not 74, in 1892 — either that or the stone has been mis-read.

8.  Messages in the Somerset County, Pennsylvania, Forum (online at GenForum.com), including one that confirms John C. MOCK died in 1902, not 1892.
