Hiram and Sally HILL are the orphaned children of Samuel Allen HILL, son of John HILL.  No doubt Samuel HILL and Susan HILL were related, but the 1840 census shows no daughter (of any age) in John HILL's household, which casts doubt on them being siblings.  On the other hand, Susan could have been "working out," so her absence doesn't rule out her being John's daughter.  The relationship was surely a close one, or else I don't see Isaac taking them in.  I don't know who Jackson HILL is, at least not for certain.  He was not with Samuel Allen HILL in the 1850 census.  In fact, there is no Jackson HILL, at all, in the 1850 census.  But he may be Ezekiel Jackson HILL, orphaned son of William HILL, son of Ezekial HILL, which raises an interesting possibility because I don't believe anyone has yet connected Ezekiel HILL (b. 1790 in ?) to John HILL (b. 1783 in NC), both progenitors of large HILL families in Cape Girardeau Co., MO.
