GLOVER, b. 1841/2 8. Eliza Ann GLOVER, b. ca. 1845 If the marriage date of George & Elizabeth ATKINS is correct, the next two children were either Elizabeth HONEA's before she died or Elizabeth ATKINS's from a prior marriage. Given Elizabeth ATKINS's age when she married George, it is very likely she had a prior marriage and very probable that George would adopt the children, giving them his surname. Either that or she and George had two children out of wedlock before they married, which seems an unlikely thing for a clergyman to do. 10. Mary Jane GLOVER, b. ca. 1852/3
On the other hand, the ordering of the children in the 1870 census suggests that George is her son. This would make more sense if the date for the second marriage were wrong. |
