Mr. GALLIHAR
Emily A. __?__
Please Note:  There are two possibilities here regarding the Emily GALLIHAR in the 1850 census (see Sources below), one is that she's a widow, the other that she is an unwed mother.  Secondary sources give Emily maiden name "BROSHANK/BROSCHANK," but I can find no marriage for such an Emily.  In fact, I can find no one surnamed BROSHANK/BROSCHANK in any U.S. Census, from 1790 to 1940.  Nor can I find anyone with this surname — except for secondary sources showing Emily with it — in any of the major online databases:  not Ancestry, not RootsWeb, and not the LDS (except for one Russian immigrant to Canada in 1876).  If there is primary documentation for Emily's maiden name, please share; otherwise, there remains the possibility that the surname was fabricated to hide the fact that she was an unwed mother.  However, I'm going to give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she is a widow — maiden name unknown, or at least unproven.  If so, she was most likely married to a brother of William GALLIHAR, who is listed next to her in the 1850 census, and to a son of Charles GALLIHAR, who is listed three households from her in the same census.
