Charles GALLIHAR
Ms. __?__
Margaret HOFFMAN
Husband:  Charles GOLLIHAR / GOLLIHER / GALLIHAR / GALLAHAR — phonetic variations of GALLAGHER
Birth:  1793/4, KY
Occupation:  farmer

He is said to be son of these parents
Father:  Charles GALLAGHER
Mother:  Nancy BUNTON
but in the 1850 census, their son, Charles, is living with his widowed mother back in Kentucky (q.v.).

Marriage-1:  ca. 1817
Wife-1:  Ms. __?__
Birth:  1800-1810
Death:  by 1831

Given the age difference between Charles and Margaret, we would suspect that he had an earlier wife.  There is an 1830 census record in Clark Co., AR (see below), that supports a Charles this age being married at that time, and the 1840 census of our subject supports some older children are living with him.  Still, I do not have direct evidence that they're the same man.  Further documentation is still needed.

Marriage-2:  17 Apr 1831, Clark Co., AR
Wife-2:  Margaret "Peggy"  HOOFMAN / HOFFMAN
Birth:  1807/8, IL
Occupation:  homemaker
Children with Wife-1:
Emily's placement here depends on whether she was our subject's widowed daughter-in-law or his daughter, an unwed mother.

Given the extreme youth of the individuals in this household, I find it impossible to believe this is a married couple and child, unless the enumerator tallied all three in the wrong age class .  My suspicion is that these are the children of Charles's first marriage — it's not unusual for children to have an intense dislike for their stepmother, so perhaps Charles is allowing them to live alone.  It
