Wyandot Co. Republican 1-24-1901 NELSON CORBIN
Nelson Corbin, one of Richland township's well-to-do and highly
respected residents, died Saturday night at 10 o'clock, at his home near
Wharton, after a short illness from eryeipelas. His age was 46 years, and
he leaves a wife and six children. The funeral occurred Sunday afternoon
at Vanlue, Hancock Co. |
Wyandot Union Newspaper 8-13-1924 Obituary
The funeral of Mrs. Amanda Corbin, who died at the home
of her son, Grover Corbin, in Wharton, Friday afternoon, was held Sunday
morning at the Wharton Methodist Episcopal church, conducted by Rev. Cruikshank,
assisted by Rev. Guy Miller, of Wharton. Burial was made in St. Paul's
cemetery, west of Carey. Deceased, whose maiden name was Amanda
Reynolds, was born March 19, 1849, being aged 75 years, 4 months, and
20 days at the time of death. She was the daughter of G.W. and Elizabeth
Reynolds. On February 10, 1870 she was united in marriage with Nelson
Corbin, who preceded her in death in 1901. To this union the
following children were born: George Corbin in Michigan, Mrs.
George Kindell, of Mt. Victory, James Corbin, Curtis Corbin,
Edwin
Corbin, Grover Corbin and G.W. Corbin, all of Wharton.
One son, Francis Corbin, preceded his mother in death in 1901.
Besides her children, Mrs. Corbin is survived by the following brothers
and sisters: Mrs. Rose Summers, a twin-sister, of Ridgeway; Mrs. Jacob
Litzenberger, of Vanlue; Mrs. C.R. McCracken, of Sulphur Springs, Ark.;
Mrs. G.A. Gottier, of Wharton; R.F. Reynolds and A.J. Reynolds of Findlay.
She also leaves 34 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Mrs.
Corbin was a member of the Christian Union church of Shiloh. |
