*unreadable — the handwriting on this manifest is, in general, difficult
to read and is frequently indecipherable.
In the Ellis Island database, Samuel is indexed "Caraso" and is age
16; in the Ancestry database, he is indexed "Ceraso" and is age 17.
I find his age indecipherable, but the first digit is definitely "1."
Jacob is indexed, "Kamche," in both databases. In the Ellis Island
database, Jacob's wife and children are also surnamed, "Kamche," and their
given names are indexed, respectively, "Anna," "Soatika," and "Vitas."
In the Ancestry database, Jacob's wife and children are surnamed, "Samche,"
and their given names are indexed, respectively, "Reina," "Sowkka," and
"Vitas." |
