Tennessee was formed from North Carolina in 1796. The entire 1800 Tennessee census was lost, and all but one county of the 1810 Tennessee census was lost (viz., Rutherford — and there were no CORBINs there in 1810). Of the 48 counties existing at the time of the 1820 census, 22 were lost. The entire 1890 Federal census was lost. |
