| Comments:
The greatest question in my mind is on what bases are these children attached to these parents? And how do we know that this Thomas Wyatt is the one who came to Todd Co. ca. 1811? Did the parents really go back and forth between KY and TN? Or are there errors in the later census records of the children? I have added Isabella Wyatt to this list of children based solely on the fact that she and her husband were living two doors down from Edward and his wife in the 1850 Census of Morgan Co., IL, which would be an extraordinary coincidence if they were not related. It would make a lot more sense if at least the first two children were not Mary's, both from the standpoint of her age and the span of her fecundity. This is 30 years of child-bearing. Not impossible, but unusual. Do we really have the correct children with these parents? You have to accept a lot of census errors to accept this arrangement (including Mary's age, see Source 5 below). Or is Mary Thomas' second wife? |
