The identity of Archer's father is controversial.  Based on what evidence I've found, so far, he appears to be the love child of Arabella and C.P. HUNTINGTON, a product of his 15-year affair with Arabella while he was still married to his first wife (and she to her first husband).  After the death of C.P.'s first wife, C.P. married Arabella and adopted her (now teenage) son.  Before C.P. and Arabella were married, she maintained that Archer's father was her first husband, John WORSHAM.  But was Archer really John's son? And was Arabella even married to John WORSHAM?  At this point, only DNA testing could provide the iron-clad proof of Archer's fatherhood, but — aside from the unlikelihood that the family members would consent to the necessary exhumations and testing — as Archer had no children, does it realy matter?

The question here is whether, with regard to the birthplace of Archer's father, he was referring to his biological father or his adoptive father — or whether they were one and the same.  Certainly, a birthplace of Connecticut does not support the case for John WORSHAM being his biological father because John was born in Virginia, while it was C.P. HUNTINGTON who was born in Connecticut.
