Page 534. Indenture tripartite made Sep 10, 1707,
between Sylvester Welsh of the 1st part, John Welsh of the 2nd part, and
Gerrard
Hopkins of the 3rd part, witnesses that whereas sd Sylvester and John,
by their deed of Mar 12, 1706, sold to John Hyde of the City of London,
merchant, 450 acres, being so much of 2 tracts of 302½ acres each
[as was] granted to sd Silvester and John by patent of Nov 10, 1703, being
a confirmation to Sylvester and John of a certain tract of land in AA called
Arnold
Gray, whereof sd Silvester conveyed to John Hyde 250 acres and
John Welsh 200 acres, with consideration of redemption upon payment of
the money at the times therein limited. And whereas John Hyde by
Charles Carroll, his attorney in Maryland, with the consent of Silvester
and John has received of Gerrard Hopkins, towards receiving so much
of the premises as is hereinafter |

conveyed to sd Gerrard Hopkines, the sum
of 122£ 8 shillings and thereupon has, by his attorney afd, transferred
to Gerrd Hopkins all of John Hyde's right to so much
of the before bargained premises as is hereinafter described and conveyed.
Now this deed witnesses that Sylvester and John, for sd sum so as afd,
paid by Gerrard to John Hyde and acknowledged by Charles Carroll
for account of John Hyde, and in order to make Gerrard an absolute
estate of inheritance in fee simple to that part of the premises hereinafter
described, have sold to Gerrard Hopkins (viz) Sylvester out of his
part of tract called Arnold Gray 154 acres and John out of his part of
the tract 50 acres, both containing 204 acres contiguous one to the other,
the 204 acres being bounded by Leonard Wayman's line, the dividing line

Page 431. Last day of Aug, 1711, from Henry
Roberts of AA to Gerrard Hopkins of AA. Caecilius Ld Baltimore,
be his letters patent dated at the City of St Mary's, Sep 6, 1670, granted
to Wm Roper of South River in AA, a parcel of land in AA called Ropers
Range containing and laid out unto him for about 420 acres.
Said Roper, by deed dated Jun 2, 1674, conveyed the same to John Shrigley
& Fra's Johnson of AA. Said Shrigley conveyed one moiety of said
parcel of land, by deed dated Aug 12, 1679, to Andrew Roberts of AA. Said
Ropers Range was lately divided between said Jno Shrigley and the heirs
of afd Francis Johnson deced, by George Holl, and then Dep'y Survey'r of
AA, containing about 210 acres. Said Andrew Roberts, by his will
dated Apr 4, 1682, bequeathed the 210 acres to his son, Henry Roberts.
Said Henry Roberts has lately sold to John Ford of AA 100 acres of the
same, being so much of the south side thereof. Now this deed witnesses
that said Henry Roberts, for 40£ to him secured to be paid by Gerrard
Hopkins, hereby sells to Hopkins the remaining part of the 210,
100 acres already sold to Jno Ford only being excepted, containing now
about 110 acres. Signed - Henry (H his mark) Roberts. Wit - Jno Attwell,
Jno (R his mark) Chapman.
Aug the last, 1711. Came before Ricd Jones Jr and Thos Larkin,
2 AA JPs, said Henry Roberts and acknowledged this deed. Also came
Ann, the wife of said Henry, and relinquished her right of dower to the

his deed of Mar 12, 1706[/7], sold to John Hyde of the City of London,

of the Lord Pro'pry's Land Office, being a Confirmation to said Welsh of

has granted Hopkins all that part of Arnold Gray bounded by the
line of Gerrard Hopkins' land containing and laid out for about

Sep 28, 1714, between Joseph Gates and Jane Gates, his wife, of the City
of London, of the one part and Samuell Galloway and Gerrard Hopkins
of AA, Gentl, of the other parts [sic]. Charles, Lord and Proprietor of
Maryland and Avalon &c, by his letters patent, did grant to said Jane
Gates 1000 acres, part of a tract called Whites
Ford, originally surveyed and laid out on Oct 14, 1663, for
and in the name of Jerome White, Esq, by the name of Whites Hall, and expressed
to contain 1800 acres, as in and by the said Jane Gates' patent, dated
Jul 20, 1693. Now these presents witness that said Joseph Gates and
Jane Gates, for 194£ 8 shillings ster to them in hand paid by said
Gerrard
& Samuell, Joseph and Jane sell one moiety or half part of the 1000
acres to Samuell Galloway and assigns the other moiety unto said Gerrard
Hopkins. That is, each moiety contains 500 acres. Signed - Joseph Gates,

Then reced of Samuel Galloway and Gerrard Hopkins
