Marriage Bond of Thomas THOMPSON & Delilah DAVIS
Transcribed from a photocopy of the original, handwritten marriage bond, dated 11 Dec 1815, Christian Co., KY, as received from the Christian County Genealogical Society, Hopkinsville, KY.  Unfortunately, the yellowed bond produced too dark a photocopy to make a good scan.

Henry Clark Davis is the bride's brother.  John G. Reynolds was the Deputy County Clerk.

Know all men by these presents that [one?] Thos. Thompson and _____ Davis are held & firmly Bound unto the Com. of Ky. in the [p...?] sum of $50; the [payt?] well & truly to be made, and bind our selves, our heirs [?].  Jointly and firmly by these presents sealed with our seals & [D..?] this 11th of Decr 1815.  The function of the above obligation is such that a Marriage licenses hath this day [?] for a Marriage licenses to [?] for a Marriage shortly intended between the above bound Thos. Thompson & Deliah Davis. Now if there is no lawfull cause to obstruct [?] Marriage, then the above obligation to be void.
