Death:  30 Jan 1887, Flowerfield Twp., St. Joseph Co., MI

WARNING:  Secondary sources are in disagreement as to the identity of John's parents, so my advice is to not blindly accept any of the asserted connections without documenting them.  I do not descend from John, so I'm not taking the time to do it, myself.  My interest here is Emma STROUP.

Back then, terms like "niece" and "cousin" didn't have as strict a meaning as they do, now, so our subjects may not have actually been her aunt and uncle.
